Site Investigation Drilling (Environmental/Geotechnical)
The Site Investigation (SI) Drilling division conducts environmental and geotechnical drilling assignments for consultants in the environmental, geotechnical, engineering and mining fields, utilities and government authorities, mining companies, contractors and infrastructure providers.
Macquarie Drilling SI division offers the following drilling methods:
- Solid flight augers (150 to 200mm diameter)
- Hollow flight augers (150 to 200 mm diameter)
- Standard Penetration Test with solid or hollow flight augers
- Concrete coring (30 to 300mm diameter)
- Diamond coring (NMLC, NQ, HQ HQ3)
- Direct push sampling (Macrocore, DT21, DT32)
- Rotary Air Blasting (RAB)
- Rotary Down Hole Hammer (DHH)
- Rotary mud
- Packer testing
- Borehole grouting & decommissioning
- Injection of remediation materials (ORC, HRC, RegenOx)
- Specialised mixing facilities for injection work

Remediation Services (subset of SI Drilling)
Macquarie Drilling remediation services are focused on the direct injection of remediation materials using a specially constructed injection plant. The injection rig is intrinsically safe, self-contained, hydraulically operated and equipped with integrated tandem mixers, transfer pumps, water containment facilities and specialist injection pumps with flow and pressure recording devices.
Macquarie Drilling offers the following remediation services:
- Injection of remediation chemicals using direct push methods, fixed wells and open boreholes with packer isolation. Macquarie Drilling has direct experience with injecting a range of chemical oxidants (RegenOx, sodium persulfate, activated peroxides) and bioremediation agents (ORC, Advenus, HRC);
- Installation of air sparge systems;
- Installation of extraction wells.
Mineral Exploration & Mining Drilling
This Drilling Division undertakes mineral exploration and production drilling programmes purposes on existing mine sites or in remote areas.
Macquarie Drilling Mineral Exploration & Mining division offers the following services:
- Site establishment and camp setup if required;
- Diamond drilling programmes;
- Directional controlled Navi-drilling;
- Air core operated from a range of platforms to optimise mobility and depth capacity;
- RC programmes using truck-mounted drill rigs;
- Rotary mud drilling;
- Downhole hammer and RAB.
